| Special identifiers for motorcycle tyres |
Highly specialised motorcycles require individually adjusted tyres in order to guarantee their full functionality. "For such special tyres" the profile is labelled with additional letters. These special tyres are stipulated in the papers or the tyre authorisations and must be complied with. The table may be looked up in the technical tyre handbook.
Examples are:
Bridgestone BT 014 RG, RJ, RM, RN
Metzeler Sportec M1 B, C, E
The additional labelling thus distinguishes tyres, which are identical in dimensions and profiles, but which are different in their design and thus in the road behaviour due to motorcycle-specific allocations. These tyres must stringently be mounted on the relevant motorcycles, for which they are prescribed!
